Portrait Johannes Olszewski

I was born south of Munich in 1993 and I’m an
enthusiastic climber.

In 2008 my attitude towards climbing started to change when I climbed taller walls and began walking highlines. I was able to walk my first slackline that was rigged across a canyon in the summer of 2008. Since that time I have managed more than a hundred different ascents and more than forty first ascents of highlines.

Rock climbing and highlining are a very important part of my life now. I’m fascinated by the mountains, countries nearby and far away and the uniqueness of our planet.

What appeals to me most is highlining at inaccessible places.
The Meteora highlines in Greece were my idea – or actually that of James Bond.

I rigged one of my most beautiful highlines together with Bernhard Witz in the north face of the Eiger, 1000 metres high above the ground.
